VIAIR 90P Best Portable Air Pump for Car Tires Reviews From Various Users
- I’ve been searching for a car tire pump that can be hooked up to the car battery instead of cigarette lighter sockets. Most pumps out there have to be connected to the latter and won’t work with my car as their amp draw is usually above 15 amps. I purchased this 90P model and I like it a lot. The price is a bit on the high side but it seems very well constructed and the performance is above average.
It has a couple of cord clips for clamping directly to the car battery, plus inline 30 amp fuse. The clips are alright but thought they could be better made. I could pump a tire from 30 to 35 lbs in about 15 seconds. It’s easy to operate and works pretty fast overall. The power cable should be a little longer in my opinion.
- This handy portable air pump works as advertised. It’s easy to top off your car tires when you have this tool on hand. You can do it at home or when you’re traveling somewhere and need a quick top off. Reasonably priced and it’s easy to store because the size is compact and it comes with a handy black case. The only issue I have with this product is the tire chuck which is a little hard to connect. Removing it is just as difficult. Otherwise, it’s a solid product.
- I bought this because I was getting sick and tired of going to the gas station every time my tires need to be filled up with air. Now, I’ve used this electric air pump for my car tires several times, and it works great every time. This pump is constructed mostly of metal so I think it would last a good while. I love the carrying case but sometimes it can be hard to fit the pump in it, what with the wires and everything. The air gauge on the pump is not 100% accurate by the way.
- The 90P is probably one of the best portable air pump for car tires out there. I’ve bought my share of car tire pumps in my time, ones that connect to the cigarette lighter adapter, but they tend to blow up the car’s fuse. The 90P hooks up to the car battery so I’m glad that I don’t have to put with anymore fuses blowing up. Anyway, all 4 of my old Murano SUV tires needed air. All 4 were almost flat and the 90P did the job just nice. Think it took about 30 minutes to get all 4 tires aired up.
- I’ve been using this for about a month and so far its performance has been very satisfactory. I’m pleased that it goes to work quietly unlike other portable car tire compressors I’ve had in the past. Using the thing isn’t complicated at all and it works pretty fast. My tires were a bit flat so I had this compressor clamped onto my car battery and about a minute or so, they were all nicely filled up. The lengthy power cord is a bonus. I use a separate tire gauge because the built-in one is a little inaccurate. Certainly not a deal breaker, but it is what it is.
- Got this baby on a discount and very pleased with my purchase. It pumps up car tires fast. Even faster with bike tires. A bike tire shouldn’t take more than 10 – 15 seconds to fill up. That’s how powerful this thing is. Also I noticed that it doesn’t get too hot after use. My old portable tire compressor got overheated rather easily. This one is a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for.
